Do you need the maximum value or some reference to where it is (or both) ? Ppl sometimes ask for the first but want the latter, eg. when runtimes are the values.

If only the first then algorithm can be following:

1. fetch first value of first array as the maximum
2. fetch next value
3. if it's higher than the maximum, this is the new maximum
4. if it is not end of the array, go to 2.
5. if it is end of array, take next array and go to 2.

For compacting the code you can iterate arrays with a FOR loop. If you have no idea about a FOR loop, you can write all checks line by line. In the end it's only 21 values to check.

If an IF statement also looks like black magic, there might be a MAX function available.
