I have a problem with a CPU 1517 TF version 2.9.4,
3 or 4 times a week the CPU goes to stop due to a problem on some I/O safety from Schmersal (SFB-Profinet).
I would like to try to upgrade the CPU firmware to version 2.9.7,
however, before I stop the customer's plant, I would like to have a description of the problems solved by Siemens with this update, can you indicate where I can find the file with the "change Log"?

Hi Valter_pv,

See the general download page for a description of the changes in each firmware update.

However, upgrading the firmware may not solve your problem, as it seems to me to be more of a programming issue. See FAQ "What should you do if the F-CPU goes into STOP mode and the message "Data corruption in the safety program ..." appears in the diagnostics buffer?".

I had already seen the information you linked,
the PLC program looks fine, there is no interference between safety writing areas and standard plc part and there are no mathematical calculations that can generate overflows.
The strange thing is that the plant works 24/7 and only 3 or 4 times a week the PLC goes to stop and all the times the diagnostics indicate a problem with IP67 I/O cards from Schmersal SFB Profinet,
the problem occurs randomly on one of the 6 Schmersal SFB Profinet boards. The hardware safety also consists of 12 ET200SP F I/O cards and 40 Sinamics S120 drives in profisafe via telegram 30, but a problem with these components has never come up.

Are you able to wireshark the profinet comms with the Schmersal device(s) causing the PLC going to STOP - rather than simply safety stop?

Once you have captured wireshark session that includes normal and fault conditions, forward to Siemens Support for further analysis and determine if the Schmersal device(s) or the PLC is the root cause.

It may be a firmware update resolves the problem, but I suspect it would be Schmersal profinet/profisafe firmware updating and not the S7-1500 PLC that ultimately resolves the problem.

And to be clear, you really should upload the diagnostics buffer and include the entries related to the detection and later clearing of the diagnostic fault.

If the fault clears within microseconds compared to seconds, that's two very different kinds of problems.

hi,
yesterday morning the CPU firmware upgrade was done and the entire I/O safety address area of the Schmersal SFBs was moved to a high and contiguous area.
I will see in the next few days/weeks if the problem has been resolved.
