r00ntje Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am trying to make a system for LOGO! that can randomly choose from 4 outputs. It seems that either LOGO! or my programming-skills are somewhat limited in this area. I am aware there is a random generator in the builder but this one only switches on and off at random times and it is hard to convert this to a normal random switch. It seems that I finally more or less succeeded in this, when reviewing the software simulations, but when it is used in the PLC, it malfunctions. This is my first program written for the LOGO!, maybe someone can have a look at it. Please tell me if the thing I am trying to accomplish is possible for this type of PLC. If anyone has any better suggestions for the programming, I would be happy to hear those. Ronald Attachment randomizer.zip (749 Downloads)

LOGO!Barbarian Posts: 173 Rating: (95)	Hi all I got the attached program from a LOGO! Guru in the UK. It generates a random binary output on the 4 LOGO! outputs. I used these as the address lines into a DEMULTIPLEXER, to get 1 of 16 lights to flash randomly. It worked great. There are also some other Random number generators that I played around with. r00ntje Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Thank you both, the problem has been solved now, now we are expanding the system to having 6 different outputs. Maybe even more in the future. So both your answers have been very helpfull and they work without problems when put into a LOGO, Though my question has been answered, for those interested here is some more insight in the design we are trying to accomplish. We are building a fountain with currently 6 jumping jet streams mounted in a circle. In the near future maybe this system will be expanded with some infra-red sensors to act on children playing around the fountain. After this first fountain, we will probably build more of these, maybe with more streams in them, or have them scattered around an area. The current hiccup is more of a logistic/material nature. Here, in Thailand it is nearly impossible to find 3-way solenoid valves that can operate with such low pressures as 0,1-0,4 bar. Let alone find these anywhere where they do not cost more the 800 USD. Anyway, thanks for the help with the programming!

If you wont (or must), you can reduce the number of blocks (sum of 10) by the following way: a) delete all the blocks B008, B011 und B012 b) get an "AND"-block and connect B002 and B005. c) invert (by a dubble click at the pin) the pin of the line from B002 d)..and at the other 3 parts do this modification identikal e) delete B010 and the LOW before) and B033, invert the pin "S" of B002 and connect B001 and B034 direct.
