compatibility list from the siemens site doesn't mention 1903 version of windows for both softwares. Has anyone successfully installed both TIA V15.1 & SIMATIC 5.6 in 1903 version?

Also, if i buy 1903 version and the installation has problems, is it possible to downgrade it to 1803?

I have certain problems starting Plcsim Advanced v2.0 SP1 after upgrading Windows to 1809.

Otherwise, Tia Portal v15.1 and Step 7 v5.6 work fine.

I have been running the last Siemens SW (Tia 15.1 upd4, Startdrive 15.1 Upd3, Simocode 15.1 Upd2 and Wincc 15.1 Upd 4 in a W10 1903 version.

At first everything looked fine but I started noticing weird behaviour and TIA Portal crashed unexpectedly many times.

I had the next failures:

- Not being able to save the project when having simulated with RT,

- Not being able to save the project randomly,

- Not being able to simulate with PC Simulator unless I restart the computer,

- Not being able to close the WinCC RT (which crashed and made TIA Portal uusable,

- others that I do not remember

This is why I installed 1809 and it is what I recommend. Since then, many errors (not all) have disapeared.

 SIMATIC STEP 7 and WinCC V15.1 TRIAL Download

Page down to the section that has the downloads (see picture). The program is defragmented, so you will need to get all the files -- for at least disk 1.

Note that you need to be registered for making download.
You will get a prompt if your account has not been activated yet.
