Date_and_Time variables use 8 bytes. In the attached illustration you can see one way I like to do it, whenever the data types I need to relocate are larger than the Move limits: I use SFC20 (BLKMOV), with Source and Destination addresses defined symbolically. You could also use absolute addressingwith ANY pointers, but using symbols allows you to keeptrack ofyour operations easily. I have defined 10 Date and Time entries in a data block and when I go to select the date and time entry I want I can only select the whole block. Tried pointers too its just like S7 is not seeing the entries in the DB..... Hmmm going to reboot the PC I think and see if its just one of those things. Thanks for your help, I'll keep you posted. simaticmanager Posts: 150 Rating: (5)	dear sir, i think it is possible to move data type DATE_AND_TIME by using SFC 21 FILL MOVE standard block. To test the same i make 1 data block (say db 1)and assigned two row entries as data type DATE_AND_TIME. using read clk function sfc 1 i had date and time information in the first 8 byte of db1 from dbb 0 to dbb 7. then i call sfc 21 i.e. FILL MOVE and moved the adress P# db1.dbx0.0 byte 8 to the adress P# db1.dbx 8.0 byte 8. i think it will help u rgds simaticmanager

simaticmanager Posts: 150 Rating: (5)	dear richard jupp, i think u have to use adrress P#db302.dbx0.0 byte 8 instead of trying to select the symbols. it is because the data type defined for BLK MOVE src blk is ANY type. so if u want to move time data 1 to time data 2 then u have to write SRC BLK= p#db302.dbx0.0 byte 8 DST BLK= P#DB302.DBX8.0 BYTE 8
