SinclairMihoTwo Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Question: How to upgrade the Firmware from v4.0 to v4.5? For a S7 1200 1215C PLC without any other module, In TIA Portal v.17, Microsoft Windows 10, with the device at Firmware v4.0 I had no issues at all. After upgrading the Project from Firmware v4.0 to v4.5 at Device Configuration>Properties>General>Catalog Information>Change Firmware Version, and after successfully offline Compile>Hardware (Rebuild All) and Compile>Software (Rebuild All), and then trying to Download to Device on any option, at the Dialog Window Load Preview, the following error appears: PLC > Loading will not be executed Go Online > Online Connection Failed, Module PLC has an incompatible firmware version Pressing Refresh do not solve the issue, hence the PLC successfully connects, since doing a Ping to the PLC Local IP shows the device successfully connected. Similarly, while pressing the menu bar button Go Online, under Device Configuration>Diagnostics>Device Information, the following error details appear: 1 Device with Problems Message: Not Compatible Details: Establish new online connection Help: ? Pressing the Details link return to the Go Online Dialog Window, which once again shows the PLC at the proper Local IP, which connects successfully again, but the same error messages keep appearing. The option Update Program opens the Dialog Update Program to the current PLC, which updates the program, but after Compile and repeating the steps, nothing changes. SinclairMihoTwo Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hello, For some reason, even if pressing the Go Online or even the Go Offline Menu Taskbar Buttons, the section Online & Diagnostics>Functions>Firmware Update keep being disabled. Also, when trying to apply the Online & Diagnostics>Online Access>Flash LED, the LEDs do not blink. But just before, I was able to program the PLC successfully, under the same setup, and the Local IP is always accessible by checking a Ping. Attachment 2022-01-10 - Error 4.PNG (1220 Downloads)

Neither through the LAN or through a Direct LAN Cable connection to the PC by doing the Menu Online>Accesible Devices. But while connected to the LAN, it still answers to PING through its previous specific IP, and similarly the Menu Taskbar Buttons Stop and Start, still work. If you have ethernet or direct at some x#, select those instead. If the PLC does not have PN/IE enabled, it may not show up as available for connections. However, by IP or via ethernet, it should still appear (since it is pingable). SinclairMihoTwo Hello, I have just found that the device is no longer accessible. The in hardware config - press "Detect" and add this plc to the hardware config. Then go to "Online and diagnostic" > connect "Online", check firmware version of your plc. When you exactly know firmware version of your plc, open your working project and with right click on your plc, chouse: change device. Change device to Firmware version, what you really have. After this, it should work.
