How can I use CMPTP connected to IM155 in S7-400 to perform MODBUS MASTER communication?

CMPTP is trying to perform MODBUS MASTER communication by connecting external equipment with RS-485. How can I use CMPTP connected to IM155 in S7-400 to perform MODBUS MASTER communication? If I good remember there are some modules with only std I/O modules support or other types with different also comm modules support.
