I've just bought a new CPU 315-2 PN/DP. I tried to execute a download, but the following message appeared:

Download (13:4589): The system data cannot be loaded to module 315-2 PN/DP - (R0/S2) of station Simatic 300(1). Look under details or try to determine the cause of the problem using the diagnostic buffer of the module.

Looking for the details, I found these possible causes:

1. The station configuration doe not have de module that requires de SDB mentioned.

2. The module is present, but it may have an incorrect firmware version.

I'm using the Simatic Manager and my Device Descrptor for CPU 315-2PN/DP is for the 3.2 firmware version, while my CPU's firmware versioj is 3.2.17.

I wanna know if this difference may be the problem. In this case, how may I update my Device Descriptor?

Solved. It was a problem with MMC.

What was the capacity of the MMC? 2MB? I have the same issue. I can read MMC card in our Simatic Field PG, it is possible to connect PLC, but I can't download HW and not even one FC block. It looks like fault PLC.

Today I encountered same problem with my plc CPU314C .

I did mmc reset ,re configure hardware configuration with existing module MLFB no after that power off the cpu and reinsert mmc power on again and download hardware configuration and block I think it works.  .. ..
