Dear community,

Your help please. I have a question regarding Siemens PCS7 - LOGICS in DCS. 

Somebody in our project claims that if you do a SOFTWARE download that all valve in the PCS7 logics will CLOSE. Therefore, they want to program the LOGICS with " Healthy = logical 'O' ..." & "TRIP = logical '1'.."... 

I don't like this, and it shall be opposite. 

Q: Are valves closing upon a software download????

Hi!

In PCS7, performing a software download should not inherently cause all valves to close. The behavior of valves during a software download depends on the specific configuration and programming of the control logic in the DCS.

I would recommend you create an SR for support to review further though.
