Hi All,

I am using PCS7 V10, I am trying to create signal links for all the channel driver blocks so I use the Process Object View.

I found that the DI and AI signals will become yellow after I filled them in the sheet, then the system created a textual interconnection in the chart. The "Close Textual Interconnection" command doesn't work to complete the textual interconnection (red circles in the snapshot).

It is weird that for DO and AO signals the system created the interconnection correctly (green circles in the snapshot).

I know this issue doesn't occur in PCS7 V9.1 SP2 because I did a lot of same work in it.

Anybody has the same experience and know how to fix it? Thank you in advance!

Is the textual name existing in the symbol table? Otherwise the system does not recognize the connection and mapping could not be completed.

Yes, the names have been already created in the symbol table. The names for AO and DO are correctly recognized but AI and DI are not.

If I manually input the name in the CFC chart, the connection will be created. It just doesn't work in the Process Object View for AI and DI.

I can reproduce your results exactly.  There is definitely something going on which is different from how the behavior used to work.  Most likely there is a bug happening. 

You can also get interesting results when using Technological List Editor to assign signals instead.  They are enterable there, but you will get errors/warnings about software being not installed, but once you acknowledge it, the assignment takes.  If you use the right click signal assignment in POV it works, but who wants to do that, the whole point of POV is bulk engineering and right click is certainly not bulk.

My suggestion: (many of us should) file SIOS tickets and use Technological Editor for bulk signal assignment instead of POV until Siemens can patch whichever subsystem is causing the issue. (probably TH and/or IEAPO is my guess)

Hopefully they can fix this soon as more and more people are ready to deploy on v10 from scratch instead of upgrades.

Thank you! The Technological List Editor does work for bulk engineering. I can now move on with my project. And I will file a ticket to Siemens.
