Hi everyone,

I have a G120C controller. I'm trying to operate a holding brake through relay output 0. As soon as I'm enabling MC_POWER block in TIA brake is opening. In attachment you can find my configuration.

Can someone point me in direction what I'm doing wrong? I would like use the brake to help me stop motor quicker not to be open all the time.

Fair enough but being disengaged all the time it has power is not a keeping it still either so maybe you can answer my question?

There is a reason why they are called Holding brake, they are not designed to brake the actual movement, just to keep it still.

P1351 is probably the answer to your question. See the description of parameter and try with small value.

P.S:

HATI is right about the term "holding brake"; it is not supposed to do actual braking of motor, but to hold the motor at standstill. Again, setting of P1351 will keep the brake closed (at start), until this minimal slip is reached on motor (= at least some minimal frequency is supplied to the motor).

Hy guys, I have the same problem with holding brake with G120 and speed axis for lifting. When enable the axis with mc power the brake open and the motor remain fluxing and the axis is ready. It is possible mantein close the brake and after reach a speed or frequency open the brake? I try to modify P1351 but nothing change. The configuration is the same mentioned above. In a new project i manage the brake with DO from plc and not directly from drive. Any idea if is possible do that logic with drive?

 So basically your setup doesn't have enough power to start the lifting movement? I attached a picture of all the Brake parameters of a G120C that you can modify. You can change the brake open delay, that might help a little.
