Communication PLC<->Power Supply (SCPI or Modbus)

zyzio Regular Member Joined: 4/9/2020 Last visit: 8/19/2023 Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a problem with setting up communication between PLC S7-1200 and Power Supply EA-PS 9080-340. The Power Supply has 1 Ethernet port and supports Modbus and SCPI protocols. It should be possible to remote control that device from PLC. 1. I tried to use Open User Communication and send the data in the SCPI language. I managed to connect devices to each other but after sending some data, it happens nothing. I sent the data as a string or array of chars or array of bytes, it doesn't help. Is it possible to use the SCPI language and send commands by TCP/IP? 2. The Second option is to use the Modbus protocol and send specific bytes from PLC to Power Supply. I'm wondering it can work this way? I'll be grateful for any advice.
