Hello Siemens Community,

I am working with a S7-1500 system (CPU 1515R-2 PN) and need to log data directly into a PostgreSQL database. So far, I have found Siemens documentation for connecting an S7-1200/S7-1500 PLC to aMicrosoft SQL Serverdatabase here:

However, I have not been able to locate any guidance or examples for interfacing withPostgreSQL. My questions are:

1. Is it possible to establish a direct connectionfrom the CPU 1515R-2 PN to a PostgreSQL database using T-SQL or any built-in Siemens function blocks?

2. If direct communication is not supported, what is the recommended approach? Should I implement an intermediate API or OPC UA server?

3. Are there any existing libraries, function blocks or sample projects for PostgreSQL (or other non-Microsoft RDBMS) that I could leverage?

Any pointers, code snippets or architectural recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
