Hey all,

I was trying to configure my IO Link master Balluff BNI00L3. I have a wöhner motor starter IO link device (36123) to be connected to the port 4 of my master and im trying to do the configuration in TIA V20. I have uploaded the GSDML file of my master and added other IOlink devices to my master ports. Since they were Balluff devices, I could add it from the hardware catalogue of my master itself. Now Im stuck with the Wöhner motor. I have the IODD file of the motor starter, not sure is it possible to upload the IODD to Tia and continue the configuration.. 

I would greatly appreciate if someone could give me guidance as Iam new to this..

My master is from Balluff

I have added the process input and output bytes of the motor starter to the port of my master in Tia portal and uploaded the IODD to the Balluff Engineering Tool and did the configuration. But I want to have the configuration saved in my PLC. beacause, In case I have to replace the master or replace the device, It would be very easy. 

I read that the parameters of the IO link devices will be saved in the master so that if i replace the devices it will auto cofigure. But what if, I want to replace my master!?  SInce it was possible to assign all my devices from balluf to my balluff master in Tia, I guess devices will work. But what about the motor starter ? Since the parameters of motor starter is not available in the new master, it can stop working right…

How is it possible to solve this?
 

What they are suggesting is to do the manual ISDU parameterization of the device. But since I have a considerable number of this device, It would be very time consuming. Also all the parameters needed for the devices has to be known. Iam looking for a solution other than this. If any body has done this, or have an idea on this.
