Solar Tracking is the new HOT topic and a lot is being said about another unnamed product having a trackng algorithm to determine thr position of the sun at a given location at a certain time. For this, the controller needs to know the GPS location (lat, long & elevation) and also get an accurate time - maybe also from a GPS. Then the controller needs to calculate where the sun will be and control some motors to possition a panel to get the optimum sun collecion. Surely a LOGO! can do this with some sort of sensor (in 2 axes, using the analog inputs) to always 'search' for the best sun direction. This way, you do not need a compley controller and algorithm and all the GPS info. You just place the sensors in the sun and the LOGO! will determine the best collection point. Anything been done about this? (looking ofr somehting for home use or small solar array use, not a whole big solar farm with lots of collectors and networking between all the controllers!) Thanx

( imagin an X made of plastic and each photosensor in one of the spaces ) if the four sensors receive the same amount of light then the array is perpendicular to the sun if one or more sensors are in a shadow ( made by the plastic ) then you should move the array in the opposite direction... ¿¿ did i explain myself ?? playerslight Posts: 1064 Rating: (72)	I have seen what Rosa id talking about for white line following .with the addition of 2 more photoresistor it should work . Keep in mind at night it will probably follow the moon unless you figure out some logic to disable it . I was thinking about trying this for either solar panels or a pool heater .keep us informed on how you make out Steve

Now I just need someone adventurous to build a full scale version. There are some pictures of a great little model that we worked with, some explanatory blah-blah-blah and the very simple code that runs this! Hope you all like it (i.e. rate it!) Aaaaarrgghh!!
