What kind of low effort garbage is this? You want people to edit C files to get your product to work?

Siemens has more people embedded in the Microsoft Redmund campus than any other company in the world. We all know the transition to Windows 11 is forced, ridiculous, and badly planned. BUT Siemens is VERY WELL AWARE that many companies that use their software are tied to an Internet Explorer interface. You CANNOT install the patch for Windows 11 that fixes the ALM failures without downloading. But the downloading link does not work in Internet Explorer because javascript is blocked. No amount of tinkering with Windows 11 fixes that. I finally found the issue in this post: How do you clear Script errors in the Internet Explorer of the WinCC Web Client? - ID: 92559564 - Industry Support Siemens What underdeveloped engineering mind made this the fix? The instructions below provide a workaround for clearing this problem. Instructions Open the header file "apdefap.h" in the C script editor. Copy all "#pragma...." and "#include pwrt_api.h" instructions from the C script concerned to the end of the "apdefap.h" header file and then delete them in the C script. Save the header "apdefap.h". Save and compile the C scripts concerned. Publish the pictures and scripts. Check whether the messages are still displayed on the Web Client. So now we have to be MANIPULATING C CODE TO GET YOUR SOFTWARE TO WORK WITH WINDOWS 11? I was not aware that C programming is now expected to be in a Controls Engineer toolbox. This is what happens when you hire Computer Science graduates. Hire more actual engineers. You find this an acceptable solution? When did you stop being an engineering company?
