I am currently working on a project in TIA Portal where I am attempting to simulate PROFINET IO device communication between two CPU 1515-2 PN units — one configured as an IO Controller and the other as an IO Device.

After completing the hardware and network configuration, both CPUs start simulation successfully. However, data exchange between the IO Controller and IO Device does not occur as expected.

I would like to confirm whether it is possible to simulate this setup using PLCSIM . If so, could you please provide or direct me to a detailed procedure for configuring and simulating IO Device communication between two simulated CPUs on the same system?
