I'm trying to port some scripting that we use(d) a lot in the classic RT from VBscript to javascript. This includes dumping data from a PLC buffer to a csv file or database (SQLite).

I started from the code snippets for database / file access, but the provided try / catch code doesn't work when an error is thrown in the try block.

I want to check what goes wrong, but I cannot find any info on the error object that is returned in the catch block…

Second problem: 

let results = await conn.Execute(query);

when an sql query is executed and there is an error in the query , I would expect that ‘results’ gives me info on it (I used results.GlobalError for that). If the query is correct, the value of the globalerror is 0

But when I type an error in the query, it returns nothing and the script hangs or is aborted… The catch block is never executed.

How to solve this?

I already found that entry, it uses the same error handling that you get when using the code from the snippet… 

I've searched a lot of examples (their seem to be not that many), but standaard error handling used in javascript for browsers, doesn't seem to work with the implementation that Siemens did…

My normal code works and for the moment, I let the plc check for a time-out of the script by writing a ‘done’ bit at the end of my script…
