Sinamics Starter communication problem

Tech189 Advanced Member Joined: 11/26/2008 Last visit: 11/6/2014 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Recently a customer bought a PC USB adaptor to communicate with Siemens S7-300 (CPU 317) and Sinamics S120 ( 3 CU320) being controlled by the PLC. Now the communication network of the drives Sinamics i.e profibus is set at baud rate of 6Mbps in the DP port of CPU.Where as in the other port MPI/DP the baud rate set is 1.5Mbps.Now when i try to communicate with the DP port (6Mbps),it doesnt show anything because the maximum baud rate is 1.5Mbps of PC adaptor.on the other port MPI/DP it takes about 5-8 mins to show me the nodes which are about 20. When i am online with the system and open the sinamics parametre in starter and try to go online it doesnt go online with the error that the node doesnot respond.Does this happen with the PC adaptor due to the fact that this is the limitation of PC adaptor. Does anyone has any idea why the starter does not go online??

When you have correctly set up your PG/PC routing, you can communicate via your USB interface at 1.5MB over the 6MB connection between the two other objects. The reasons for Starter not connecting can be a pain, communication settings have to be correct, you have to have the same firmware version in the offline project as appears on the CF card.
