jkp Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Dear All, We are facing following problem in hoist inverter of one of our equipment: 1. Hoist Drive 1&2 tripping with hoist drum speed fault message in SICMA. This happens only when crane lifts container weight more than 52T (the crane lifting capacity is 60T).Same time there is no fault message on PMU of Hoist-1&2 drive, in the both PMU showing 008 status. Action Taken: 1. Replaced CUVC cards of both drives and parameterisation done. 2. Replaced tacho (incremental encoder) of both hoist motors and also replaced DTI cards. 3. Replaced position encoder mounted on the hoist rope drum and replaced SSI card & analog I/P card. 4. Increased magnetising current of both motors by 10% but problem not solved hence normalised it. 5. Downloaded PLC backup program. 6. Checked load cell calibration, found OK. Above 52T load Hoist -1&2 speed setpoint is coming in the drive but motors are not rotating & both are taking 895Amp current which is FLA of these motors.

powerpack Posts: 74 Rating: (3)	If there is no fault on the PMU then maybe the PLC is switching the drive of. A status 08 can mean an OFF2 A speed fault can also be caused with the PLC closing the brake on a still moving drive because its is seeing something wrong. Just check that it is not the Load Measurement System bringing it out.

jkp Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Dear Powerpack, We have taken trial with single motor on single inverter one by one and lifted 20T load, in this case Hoist-2 is working OK but when we select Hoist-1 & lifting 20T load then motor takes full current and doesnt rotate.Alarm 034 appers on PMU. Now we are planning to replace IVI and CT also suspected.

jkp Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Dear Diwa & Powerpack, The MLFB no of drive is 6SE7041-1TK60-Z.. Checked brake found working OK.Load measuring system is also working normal. We have interchanged CTs & IVI card with Hoist-2 but still problem ia in Hoist-1 drive

ibrahim elmogy Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hi , I think the problem is not sufficient torque supplied from hoist 1 ( drive & motor) with 52 ton load. So th drum free fall( DC link under voltage may cause this ) so I suggest the following. 1- Monitorhoist 1 & 2 speed and drum speed when fault happened by adding network in plc program with apositive edge function to register speeds immediately. 2- Monitor DC linkvoltage for both drives. 3- Test motor 1 with drive 2 by swapping motorscables if possible. wish this help u

jkp Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Dear All, Problem solved. Changed hoist-1 motor by spare one, now working OK up to 60T load. Motor which one is removed send to electric workshop for further testing/repairing but one thing is clear that its winding is allright.

powerpack Posts: 74 Rating: (3)	Unfortuantly it is not always possible to pick up a winding fault with a meter test. Especially on large hoist motors. Recently I also struggled on a compressor and they only discovered with a "Rosseti test" that something was wrong with the motor, everything else said it was OK. Thanks for the feed back though

jkp Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Dear Powerpack, Received report from workshop,its rotor is faulty. out of 106, 65 bars are found open in the rotor.Repairing work is in progress.
