How to replace the DC servo motor?

timzhou Posts: 22 Rating: (0)	hello, My customer need to order 1HU5040-0AC01 DC servo motor, I check the motor is end of PLM, so I need to replace 1HU5 motor with 1FK7/1FT7 AC servo motor. Could you please give me some advice and notice for how to replace? Thank you very much.

Hello, Can you provide more details of the DC servo motor like base speed RPM, Max RPM, torque in Nm, current, power rating,does the motor has brake or without brake,what type of feedback i.e. linear scale or rotary encoder. Also as you are going to change DC servo motor with AC servo motor, in such case you need to go for replacement of drive also. In this case what about your other axes motors & drive. What type of machine is it, means CNC or NC or stand alone type, how many axes it has & which is the controller? etc Please check this all. DEEP.

Hi, Please check out this link & confirm the details. http://www.industrypart.com/product_info.php/language/en/info/p2608_SIEMENS-1HU5040-0AC01-Z-OR-1HU50400AC01Z-PERMANENT-MAGNET-MOTOR.html I think 1FK7042-5AF71 AC servo motor will be the equivalent one. Please check the physical dimention of existing DC motor & whether the said motor is with brake or without brake. Upon confirmation of the same you can correctly select the equivalent one. Also please check out the other points recommendedearlier. Hope this shall help you. DEEP.

pd_1 Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Dear Tim, First of all please tell us what application the DC motor is being used, this will give us a clear idea about your application, in my personal experience we have replaced DC servo in a two axis CNC spm with AC Servo motors with1.5 times more NM capacity. We had earlier replaced it with the same capacity AC servo but we faced a lot of problems like vibrationsduring axismovement also in some applications where dc motors are used when position is reached the drive is disabled and aramature is short through a resistance and in this mode the motor istelf acts as a brake keeping the axis in position.
