ProTool & OP3 problem

yahyaevil Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi everybody I have a Simatic-OP3 operator panel & Protool v5.2 , I tried to connect it with RS-232 port in my PC but there is no response to the connection so i tried Protool v6.0 and there is no connection too ,so please help me to do this connecting and guide me to the right virsion of Protool and the way to connect the Panel with it . With my BEST wishs .

With my BEST wishs . The cable that you need is Seriell RS232 (6XV1440-2K.. - Provided Wire.) type. Both versions should be OK. With them you can build new project with OP3 panel and download it to the panel. Unfortunately to take backup from Op3 isn't possible. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

With my BEST wishs . Hi yahyaevil, are you using the RS232 Cable one Side D port & other side RJ45 ? for downloading the Backup in to the OP3. let me know may be this is the one problem.

yahyaevil Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	First of all thank u for everything yes I'm using this kind of cable (( one side is a D port and other side is RJ-45 port )) I configured the serial Port in the software with the right options .

But in the manual I found : Download mode - OP3 mode in which data are transferred from the programming unit to the OP3, or vice versa. The "vice versa" means (I hope), that also upload (backup OP -> PG) is possible. Right? J.
