E-Counter (7KT1) on Modbus

moz Member Joined: 4/25/2007 Last visit: 12/20/2025 Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	We have an E-Counter (PAC1500) 7KT1 531 and a Modbus RTU interface 7KT1 907. I can't find out where to set Modbus address. The documentation for the Modbus interface only mentions 7KT1 34x products. This linkhttp://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/39614302 also seems to refer to 7KT1 34x products. Is the 7KT1 531 not compatible with Modbus interface? If it is compatible, how can I set the Modbus address? Thanks Moz Update: Further investigation has revealed that the "RS485 Master Software" package is required to configure the Modbus module. However, I can't find this package anywhere. If anyone knows, please post a link to the download. Thanks

M-Bus is a 2-wire digital bus that has been created to connect energymeters to a remote controller in a very easy and inexpensive way. You can find much information on M-Bus on the official website: http://www.m-bus.com/, and more general dataon Wikipedia. The Automation and Drives division (they offer this forum) does not have a simple solution for M-Bus connections. The communication modle you specify is for M-Bus, not Modbus. And yes, M-Bus is not Modbus, so I doubt you can set a Modbus address on your module. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

I have a 7KT1 907 in front of me and it clearly reads "Modbus RTU". Part number for available comms modules: 7KT1 900 - EIB-KNX 7KT1 903 - RS 485 7KT1 907 - Modbus RTU 7KT1 908 - M-Bus Now, back to my original question: How can I set the Modbus salve address? Thanks for taking the time to read and resond to my question.
