But let me tell you that nothing is free. Although Siemens offers Step 7 Lite as a free ware, but it is a software with limited features. You can download it from this link: STEP 7 Lite V3.0 incl. SP4 Available for Downloading To know the differences between it and other Step 7 software, please read this FAQ: What are the essential differences between STEP 7 Lite and STEP 7 / STEP 7 Professional? Step 7 Lite is not suitable for S7-400 or distrubited I/Os. So you have to buy Step 7 or Step 7 Proffessional. See the differences and decide. Hope this helps.

Dear sir, if you don't mind iam a fresher of this world. my application is GEORG Germany, Transformer core lamination machine. this is a CNC control, and having 11 master drive and 8 capacitor modules, and i/o distrubution control system and this is profibus communication for all PLC and i/odistrubution. so i am a maitenance engineer for this machine, please give me suggitions for preventive matinenace for master drives and PLC and also how to communicate the PLC? we have CP 413 our PLC rack. tel me price of the PLC simatic and also tel me whic version is suitable for this appilcation. regards rajesh.putta
