BW30/1 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello. I am new to the forum and not very experienced with S7 PLCs. I have a problem at my plant and am trying to get our systems back going. In the past we had a problem with a Siemens S7 Part Number 6ES7 318-2AJ00-0AB0 CPU going bad. What happened was it lost the memory and for whatever reason would not hold memory that was reloaded. The unit would only run with the Memory card (Par Number 6ES7 951-0KF00-0AA0) plugged into the unit. I was uncomfortable with this arrangement due to the fact that it was our only copy of the program. So I contacted a Siemens technician to help. I purchased two additional refurbished CPUs from Siemens and an additional memory card. The technician repaired my original CPU and loaded the programs into all 3 units and made me 2 memory cards. Yesterday we had what appeared to be the same condition with the CPU unit. So the quickest thing for my staff technician was to replace the CPU with one of the Pre loaded CPU units. When we start up we get a Green Run Light and a green DC5V light on the CPU but some of the Output modules do not come on. We traced down the 24v circuit and got back to a Siemens SIGUARD safety device that is not powering on. My only problem is in the drawing this device gets its power from one of the outputs that is not coming up on the PLC. Which to me points back to the CPU. Is there a link I can go to, to get step by step instructions on how to properly load the program from my memory card to the CPU. I want to start there and see what happens.
