Drive Speed hunting at some speed because of old Gear-box

Meet Posts: 38 Rating: (0)	Hello expert, i have rolling mill application 6RA70 Drives, in one of stand drive as its gear-box is big and old, at some speed gear-box giving high vibration and humming , because of same motor speed and current hunting higly. so pls have a look at attached trace file and give some guidance what can be done to make this drive smoother ? Is this new under commissioning or old running smoothly & recently this problem is observed? 2. What type of speed feed back device used? 3. Motor name plate & drive MLFB detail? 4. From the graph it observed that when speed set point is above 46%, speed variation is observed. Is this true? Does motor run in field weakning mode? 5. Have you chcked the mechanics like motor gear box coupling, foundations, mounting bolt tightenings etc for any loose or abnormalities? 6. Does recently any overhauling activity of motor, gear box carried out? 7. Have you checked the alingment of motor & gear box? HTH.

Is this new under commissioning or old running smoothly & recently this problem is observed? This is old motor and running from last ten years and this problem is from 2 years. 2. What type of speed feed back device used? Encoder used for Speed Feedback. 3. Motor name plate & drive MLFB detail? Motor is 373kw, 600v, 670 Amp, 14Amp field current, 225/625 rpm (GBR=10.3:1), Drive 6RA7087-6GV62 4. From the graph it observed that when speed set point is above 46%, speed variation is observed. Is this true? Does motor run in field weakning mode? Yes this problem is above 275 rpm and field weakning is used. 5. Have you chcked the mechanics like motor gear box coupling, foundations, mounting bolt tightenings etc for any loose or abnormalities? Everything is ok, but gear-box is 30year old (inside may be back-lash is there) 6. Does recently any overhauling activity of motor, gear box carried out? no new modification or any activity, but problemis old and we are looking for solution. 7.
