If you have not yet have the card then I suggest to take the IM 308C which is much easier to handle. With COM 5430 you have to do the assignment of the I/O by yourself and also the hole parametrizing. With different I/O you have to look which parameters have to be assigned to the I/O. Normally I do that with COM PROFIBUS so that it is some easier (COM PROFIBUS is the program to program the IM 308C).
