I have problem whit C98043-A7001-L2 board .

when this board is connected to the Simoreg there is nothing to show on the PMU and PMU is OFF .

when I changed this board with new one , every thing became OK .

what is your idea ? how can I repair it ?

please help us .

 Dear ,

 from what you say your card is "dead" I would suggest you repair it in an authorized Siemens if possible.

This is CUD1 card which is connected to A2 card (control power supply card) thru flat ribbon cable. (Please refer attached drawing) Please make sure that pins on card are in good condition i.e. not bend or broken. Fit the card. Remove all DI/DO connections, switch ON power & check PMU display. If it is OK, switch off power & one by one connect the connector, switch on power & check for PMU display. This way you can diagnosis if the card is faulty or external DI/CO is causing short circuit thus failure of card.

If the card itself is faulty, then send it for repairs to nearest Siemens service support.

Chances of failure of card is very less. In our shop 6RA70 drives are in operation since last 20 years & not a single CUD1 card has failed so far.

but in our city there is no service center of Siemens . I want to repair it by my self . do you have any experience about repairing this board ?

Have you found out if the card is faulty or external DI/DO causing card failure?

Have you checked the pins?

These digital drive cards are based on SMD technology. Do you have latest SMD repairy kits? Do you have signal generators/simulators to test individual components? Do you have electronic circuit diagram of cards?

If answer to any one of above question is no, it would be half hearted job. Minor repairs one can manage but what about major repairs? 

So just find out if exactly the card is faulty. Carry out physical checking for any flash over or cracks or dust etc on card. Since no display at PMU signifies 24 volt or 5 volt getting short. So examine the card carefully. Check on pins with DMM for any dead short.

Could you please explain how the card failed? During any parameter change or during connection of any DI/DO? or during machine running condition? 

Do you get voltage on CUD1 card when connected to drive as below -

P24, i.e. 24 V DC at terminal 34 of X171 connector?

P10 i.e. 10 V DC at terminal 2 of X 174 connector?

N10 i.e. -10 V DC at terminal 3 of X 174 connector?

P15 i.e. 15 V DC at terminal 26 of X 173 connector?

In running condition .

No I did not test voltage in terminal

I will check it
