READING DATASETS OF SIMOCODE PRO V/3RW44 STARTER FROM 3rd Party PLC

hsnaik Experienced Member Joined: 8/7/2013 Last visit: 3/6/2025 Posts: 90 Rating: (1)	I have commissiend total of 72 Simocode and 4 3RW44 soft starters at a site my problem is that the plc is of GE automation and i am able to send only few satus data from our device i need to send all this data 1. each phase Current in Amps. 2. Voltage for each phase. 3. KW reading. 4. KVA reading. 5. power factor reading. 6. loading of actual power reading. 7. CT Ratio details. 8. Motor kw rating set. 9. Feeder operating Hrs. 10 Nos. of trips. 11.Reason of trips. 12 Status of Motor Overload and Feedback. 13 Status of field Em.Stop , Start and Local / Remote selection. 14 Status of Local Start Permissive. 15 Status of Interlocks includes ESD. 16 KWH Reading. 17 Runing hours details. 18 Trends & Alarms and history will be record in Scada. 19 Earth Fault. 20 Under Voltage 21 Over voltage 22 Output Overload 23 Over temp 24 Output short-ckt 25 Single phasing i am able to send only 5 or 6 datas totally,can anyone help me regarding how to read all the DATASETS present in both the device through GE PLC..

What is the communication medium are you using (PROFIBUS, PROFINET) 2. If you are using PROFIBUS are you using SIEMENS Y-Link module in your communication chain 3. You need to select the required data type either, Type-1, Type-2 or Universal 4. Are you expecting the data what ever you requested has to come a cyclic data or acyclic data 5. Acyclic data is the user configurable. 6. If you are using Y-link module there is the restriction on SIMOCODE module communication viz PROFIBUS Communiction (i.e., it can allow to send only 10 bytes of information in cyclic manner) awaiting for your feedback to help you more

I have selected Type 1. Sir I am able to send all the data but my problem is they are not able to scale the data according to range given in our manual e.g i am sending Voltage on Byte4/5, this constitue a word when they are converting this data they are getting it in negative. also when they are scaling this data according to range given in the manual(P11-26) it is not coming properly I also need to know that what data type we are sending from simocode,is it a word, Dword, Int, etc..... i need guidence in how to scale the data in GE PLC Also another problem is that when my motor is Tripping on overload it is not showing the LAST TRIP CURRENT when i am monitaring with Simocode ES software Thanx in advance

As for as Voltage data is concern no need for scale it. 2. Try to use the correct GSD file for your communication 3. What is the current setting you have entered in SIMOCODE while configuring 4. Since, current sent by the SIMOCODE is on the basis of % of set current in the SIMOCODE only. 5. Pl. try to enter the rated motor current as per the nameplate in the SIMOCODE 6, Measure the current with the clamp meter and ensure the same in SIMOCODE ES software in cyclic send data area (either in word 1/2, 3/4 etc) 7. Voltage and current are not bytes it is a word only (2 bytes) 8. If still you are having an issue, try to send your program along with its cyclic data set. i can guide you better way.

hsnaik Experienced Member Joined: 8/7/2013 Last visit: 3/6/2025 Posts: 90 Rating: (1)	Dear sir thank you very much i have confirmed that we are using the correct GSD file i am able to send voltage and current and they have scaled it too my latest problem is the Kw i am monitaring through measured values is not coming properly in PLC Also one more problem is that i am not able to moniter LAST TRIP CURRENT which i have to send to PLC.( I am tripping the motor on overcurrent) i am not able to attach file due to large size can you give me your e mail id so i can send you the program.. EBMX3 Posts: 33 Rating: (5)	Hi everyone, I also have the same problem in the simocode proV but now it is pcs7 software. I try to scale the current and change it unit from % to ampere through pcs7 standard block. It still showing % unit and not change it scale. I use an analog input driver to connect it to the I_max of simocode proV. Advance thanks for the answer.
