Hi All, 

We have an issue with drive cliq motors starting with high current values even at very low rpm.

Gear as follows,

S120 CU320-2PN with the following modules:

- Active Line Module 16kw drive cliq interface

- Active interface Module 16kw drive cliq interface

- single Motor Module 16kw with drive cliq interface 

- 1FK7 TYPE SYNC MOTOR WITH DRIVE CLIQ 

So all the controls seems to be working fine while using control panel from STARTER 5.4

But the motor seems to have 3.6A at r76 and r28 as a current output at 100rpm.??

The rated name plate details are retrieved over drive cliq at 3000 rpm and 7.2A max.

Is there any parameter in the drive expert list that might be optimised to have the current within the nominal values of around 1A ?

Any suggestions appreciated.

What problem do you have with this parameters? Is motor getting overheat? Any overload alarm?

No alarms and no warnings. 

When we try starting the motor using the control panel interface in Starter software the motor produces a lot of noise and draws about 3.4A at 100rpm.

So is there a reason why this might be happening? 

The project is setup for servo application in closed loop control. 

Tried two different motors.

Both draw 3.8A at 100rpm. But they only draw 0.85A at 100rpm on a third party servo test rig.

Any pointers to where the problem might be?

No I haven't tuned any drive settings. 

Can you advice which particular setting in the speed controller need to be adjusted? 

The motor is on no load.

Okay I have given it a try and the issue seems to be with drive parameters p1612 and p1755 I have tweaked both the rpm and the current values to suit the no load motor and voila the current issue seems to have resolved.

And in relation to the auto tune functionality, the software says it can only be used for a motor with encoder and not available for an effortless option. Tried it and yes everything was greyed out in the Auto tune option. 

But here's a tricky problem we have now. After setting up a starter project for 1FK7 type motors as Identify motor option 10000, I was able to go online and was able to read motor type and number.

But I wasn't able to read data from a second motor of the same type that was in for a repair and the motor type ways at 10000 and does not change state. But I was able to run the motor by manually selecting the type in the project. 

Has anyone come across such an issue? How did you reprogram the drive cliq on the motor to match it's name plate? 

Any suggestions please?
