On the left is the time pulse and on the right is the "on" status.
Running hours will only be measured if the drive is driving power to the motor.

Sequence control in this case is referring to the state machine of the drive itself.

Any specific reason for asking?

yes ,because i want to create hour meter from the PLC and i wonder which input must be used to calculte the running hours with good accuracy as when i used the command from the PLC and the enable bit from the control word the result from the PLC Hour meter was different from the the hour meter from the drive and which more accurate if i use the operation bit from the status word or if i use the brake status on each function as trigger point for the meter as the equipment that i want to monitor it's function is crane and the function for example is the hoist and this function runs through two master drives 

the second question is if the same drive runs two function how can i separate the running hours meter depend on the switching point on the drive ?

Hi.

The running hours for the drive is only when power goes to the output. The hour meter stands still when the motor is stopped.

If it is a hoist application, then the motor regularly comes to a stop. If it is a conveyor application, then the PLC's meter and drive meter should be more or less the same. Also.. when the PLC removes the "run" signal the drive still decelerate to stop which the PLC do not count unless you program it to do.

I suggest you formulate why you want to measure the running hours. Then it will become clear which you need.. the drive or the PLC. State that clearly here and ask the moderator to move your question to the right conference for attention by the right people.

It is not clear what equipment (ie. PLC) is used exactly so it is difficult to really be of positive help.. as you know the solution differs from system to system.

 PM for (Preventive Maintenance)

and i am sorry i don't know if i  move it to SIMOVERT Masterdrives tap or Simatic s7

I am not the person to help you solve your problem.
For others to understand your problem,
you should spell it out what you have and what you need.

Typical information that needs to be mentioned...
* PLC used for task?
* Drives used for task?
* How drives and PLC connected to each other? (example - network connection will make it possible for PLC to extract information from drive)
* Running hours per process / task or per motor running?
* How running hour meter reset? (automatic / manual / HMI)
* ..did I leave something out?

The more information there is, the more the guys can help.
Also.. there has been a few posts on this forum already covering the subject - but I must say that the approach was always from the PLC side.

For More Clarification :

1- The PLC Used is (S7400-S7300).

2- The Drive and Rectifier unites are (SiMOVERT , SIMOREG, SINAMICS, AFE, PLM, ALM).

3- The Drive connected to PLC by Means ( profibus for (Simovert, Simoreg, AFE, ALM) ) and (Drive cliq for (SINAMICS),and as the status word from the drive is run i can use this status to enable the PLC Hour meter and there are differences betwwen the drive and the PLC So what's more accurate to measure it from the drive or from the PLC .

4- The Preventive Maintenance (PM) based on the Running hours of the function which is in Cranes will be (Hoist, Gantry, Boom, Trolley ).

5- The running hours reset will be auto reset every 12 years .

As i monitor the hour meter depend on the Run bit from the status word from the Drive in the PLC 

the Reading from the PLC is less than the Drive Reading ,So Please i need to understand how the drive measure the Running hows depend on what and what's more accurate the (PLC Or the drive) if i want this to make these readings the guide line for my company to release the PM ( Preventive maintenance ) Schedule.

for that reason PLC give you value more less than the drive value.

for the drive who perform 2 function I suggest to send running hour from drive to PLC then you exploit the suitching in the program to establish your PM.
