I have the following problem: I am testing the project with CPU 315-2PN/DP (6ES7 315-2EH13-0AB0), ET200S with IM-151-3 PN ST (6ES7 151-3AA22-0AB0) module and one 2AI 2/4 WireHF (6ES7 134-4MB02-0AB0)analog input moduleon board.IdothiswithSTEP7v5.4Sp3.1andPLCSIMv5.4SP1. WhenItrytoreadanalogdatafromaddress256(L PIW256)Ihaveanerroroccured:"IO Access error reading. P area, word access, Access Address 256",CPUstopsandSFLEDlights. To avoid this error I have to use the SFC14 system function and read 4 bytes consistent data from base address 256. After this done, the error disappeared. So, how can I read the analod data from Profinet IO station: by direct access or by using SFC14? Or this error occured only because PLCSIM using? Great Thanks!!!

Normally you could load the analog values with L PIW ..., but is it not so that the CPU have a PII to address 384 ? Have you tried to load the value with L IW 256 ?

When I try to execute following code: L IW256, I receive CPU stop, SF LED and the next information in diagnostic buffer: Area length error when reading I area, word access Access address:256. Requested OB 121. This fault is right because my CPU settings. What is the reason of unable to execute L PIW256??? What is it? Maybe, PLCSIM isn't frendly to PROFINET equipment. I haven’t got a chance to try this on my laptop but I am not surprised by this outcome. I'll try this and get back to you. Regards, Phantom

I find in ST70 2007 catallog following words about ET200S: "ET200S is the standard slave in Profibus DP and Profinet IO.These systems of local and distributed IO are fully identified by programming input-output operations." But what i have noticed in PLCSIM documentation (not for 5.4, but still): "Only the CPU 315-2DP, CPU 316-2DP, and CPU 318-2 CPUs download an I/O configuration. If you download a program from another S7-300 CPU, the system data does not include the I/O configuration. This causes errors when you attempt to access peripheral I/O in S7-PLCSIM. To correct this, create an CPU 315-2DP, CPU 316-2DP, or CPU 318-2 station and put a copy of your hardware configuration into it. Download the hardware configuration from the CPU 315-2DP, CPU 316-2DP, or CPU 318-2 to S7-PLCSIM." Can you try method above?

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	All: Thismaybe a serious shortcoming of our PLCSIM. PLCSIM should completely ignore the configured HW because we test the program blocks only with PLCSIM. Modifying the program because PLCSIM goes to stop (like adding OB's) is not good. Regards, Phantom

PLCSIM must work right, but... to Aret: when I try to use CPU 315-2DP and Profibus and ET200S (IM 151-1) - I have no problem, operation "L PIW256" goes good. Documentation is completely true.
