Hello. I have read all posts and tried all suggested codes... but its not working... have a look at my files... line1.html is the main page and Update_1.html consists of the 3 PLC variables..

I did not understand what you are tying to tell....

The whole program and design is working well on regular HTML and meta refresh... see the pic... that is what my project is, production monitoring.... i have used the " and ' correctly as far as i know... where should i replace " with ', please tell.... 

But i want to refresh the plc variables using javascript and ajax or json... so that it is displayed seamlessly like a regular HMI...  so started trying that... i saw this example... https://www.dmcinfo.com/latest-thinking/blog/id/8567/siemens-s7-1200-web-server-tutorial--from-getting-started-to-html5-user-defined-pages... and that is working for single variable, and i learnt that we should use JSON for multiple variables... i have atleast 20 PLC variables to be displayed... So tried JSON, but need help from someone who have done it before... thanks....

In your script,  you are missing the dot before "text"

it should be ().text(

Actually you can use .html i think.

Beside rabb's suggestion, I've succesfully used the following code to write variables via HTML:

 Within the HTML code of the page that you're using to write (in your case, read) the variables, you should have the following:

I'm aware that you're trying to read variables but I think that this syntax would let you accomplish what you want if you adapt it correctly (getJSON instead of post, proper JSON structure via the AWP commands and the use of the event that triggers your reading, if there's any)

I've tried JAC2016's code and added the missing dots, and it Works like a charm :-)

 I have also added the jquery library from here:

Got it working. You have to add .json in the advanced properties of user web pages "Files with dynamic content", so it will be like: .htm;.html;.json

Then in your json file, ex: variables.json you have to write it like this: ":="DB WebServer".value:"

You Need at least to specify your question and offer mor Details if you Need any help! 

Regarding your concern with jQuery and its file size - there is just one DB which is loaded into the work memory- DB333 / Web control data block.
All other fragment data blocks just stored in the load memory and do not affect the work memory :-)

By using jquery you have to remove ".JS" from "files wit dynamic content" in webserver configuration

   I have multiple variables to read from S7-1200. I think I am doing as You all sugests but something must be wrong in my code, please help. Doesn't work refreshing JSON function, when I press F5 than page reloads whith actual data. In web serwer I have checked Enable automatic update (5s)

I guess there is a statement what happened and something about the error....

From the first sight, I guess the comment in setinterval is wrong, as the syntax is for an HTML comment and not a java commend :-)
