I'm trying to instal Step7 v5.6 on my windows 10 pc.

I already have TIA v16 installed.

When I try to install Step7 v5.6, I get a message regarding requirements, saying it cannot be installed on top of v5.7 OEM2

Please help

maybe you have also SINAMICS Starter installed on the system/or was installed.

STARTER install such a Step7 OEM Version which must first uninstalled.

yes this will work you must also check if some Step78 OEM Package is in Control panel -> add/remove programs

this must also be uninstalled befor the full Step7 can be installed

which installer for V5.6 did you use? V5.6, V5.6 + SP1, V5.6 + SP2? There are different installer with different base versions, maybe SP2 can help if an older version was used.

You did use one of this packages from the link, right?

STEP 7 V5.6 SP2 (.zip):
SIMATIC_STEP7_V56_SP2.zip (2,3 GB)

STEP 7 Professional 2017 SR2 (.zip):
STEP7_PROFESSIONAL_2017_SR2.zip (2,6 GB)

Because if the S7-GRAPH V5.6 SP2 package was used, the message is correct.
