Majboe Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Hi all I have a problem with establishing communication between MicroWin 4.0 and my S7 200 CPU 212. I have tried with both a PC/PPI Cable 6ES7 901-3BF00-0XA0 and with USB/PPI Multi-master Cable 6ES7 901-3DB30-0XA0. The operating system of my PC is Windows XP. Can anyone help me? BR Majboe

Majboe Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Hello mr. Elotaify Attached file of "Set PG/PC Interface". When using PC/PPI cable i set for COM and using USB/PPI i set for USB. I haven't got a COM-port on my PC so I have tried connecting through COM on docking station and also with a USB/RS232 adapter. I'm not sure what you mean by MLFB? Majboe Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	I have been looking through 2 manuals"S7-200 Programmable Controller System Manual" (6ES7298-8FA01-8BH0 and 6ES7298-8FA24-8BH0). The first describing CPU 212 and Micro/Win 16 or 32 but not 4.0, the second describing Micro/win 4.0, but not the CPU 212. Should I at all be able to communicate with a CPU 212 with the software Micro/win 4.0?? BR Majboe

umencho Grandmaster Joined: 3/21/2006 Last visit: 1/10/2026 Posts: 10247 Rating: (1183)	Hello The USB/ PPI Multi Master cable cannot be used with all S7-200 CPUs of the first generation. These communication cables only work with CPUs 212 and 214, release 1.10 or higher... The RS-232/ PPI Multi Master cable (with 8 DIP switches) also works with CPUs of the first generation if DIP switch number 5 is set to PPI/freeport ("0"). To accept the change the cable has to be de-energized by switching the S7-CPU 200 off and then on again, or by removing the cable from the S7-CPU 200 and then plugging it in again. regrads

In the manual is described"The RS-232/PPI Multi-Master cable replaces the previous PC/PPI cable", so does this meanthe previous cabledoesn't work withMicro/Win 4.0? BR Majboe
