Send SMS in case of faults

Meritor Posts: 33 Rating: (2)	Dear All, I have just preparing an application and our customer require SMSalarm report in case of fault in the system. I am going to use 317F-2DP CPU and some other CPU 313C (with CP card). These CPU will communicate to each other via profibus! What kind of device can I use for this system to send SMS in case of emergency? Can I use TS adapter for it? Can I use a mobile phone to send SMS or use ISDN? What is the best sollution? Can you give me more details how can I built (how to programize the S7program, what kind of devices I need exactly???)my system? Thanks in Advance! Norbert

The e-mail is easily programmed in the user program. I think it is also possible (I don’t test it) to use a CP 340 (ASCII) and a TC45 to send SMS. But in this case you have to implement the AT commands to TC45 through ASCII driver in your user program.

You can use the SMS-send block in the PLC. TSIIdoes contain ISDN, analog, USB and MPI/PROFI possibillity. Keep it simpel. Better was if there was an possibillity for a SIM card direct in the TSII adapter. That wil take an other year to get these solusion on the market from Siemens.
