I have a TP1200 Comfort panel.  I just got V15 and a new computer.  The computer has a screen resolution of 3240 x 2160.  I have the computer's screen resolution set to the default and the font size set to 100%.  The screens in the WinCC software does not match what is downloaded to the HMI.  

Any ideas on how to set my computer so its high resolution monitor will match the HMI?

I tried the suggestions at the link.  I have reset the resolution back to the default and the text size to 100% (Windows 10 computer).  But the scaling is still off.  I have tried different resolutions on my screen but can't find anything that will work.  Any other ideas?

 Did you do a "Rebuild all" with the compiler of the HMI?

Yes I have performed a rebuild-all of the HMI.  

I have found a setting that is kind of working.  I have the screen resolution set at 1920x1200 and the text is at 100% (Windows 10 computer).  If I leave the font at Tahoma 17 bold then it is very small on the HMI.  If I change the font size OR change the font and then compile, then it is scaled correctly, or at least much better than it was.  If I then change it back to Tahoma 17 bold it is scaled correctly.  But for some reason I have to change from the default font. 

It is the only work around I have found so far,  the down size is that the font in Step 7 Portal is small and hard to read. 

Came to this thread a few years after the original post. I'm running into the same issue with Windows 10 20H2 running TIA Portal 15.1 Update 5.  With replies here pointing to DPI being the issue, I dug into it.

I also have a 4k screen and I'm never going to run it at 100% scaling; would be impossible to see.

So I navigated to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\Automation\WinCC RT Advanced\" and brought up the properties for HmiRTm.exe. On the compatibility tab, I clicked the button "Change high DPI settings". On the resulting popup, under the second group named High DPI scaling override, check the box for "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and then selected "System" from the drop-down menu.

I closed the simulation and relaunched from TIA portal, and it works like a champ. I can finally size things out without needing the HMI to be in front of me.

The 4K display is a very complex topic that affects several TIA Portal products (STEP 7, WinCC, Startdrive, etc.). You can look up the problems that can arise in connection with an HMI panel if the scaling is changed under Windows in this FAQ:

Adjustments for displays with high DPI resolution (4K) are planned for TIA Portal V18.
