S&-200 Filling Application questions- PID or Ramp

Chopper203 Posts: 4 Rating: (2)	We have a filling application using a peristaltic pump that we control the speed of the pump (4-20ma = 0-4.0 L/minute and get a feedback signal from the pump. I plan on running a totalizer based on the pump feedback and using this to control the pump output. What is the best method to accomplish this.... Using a PID set to respond slowly to drive the pump to target, or just drive the pump at full rate untill we get to 200ml of setpoint and ramp down the pump to target. I noticed there is no ramp function in the S7-200 library. I figured I could use a system timer and an add or sub instruction to perform the ramp. Thoughts anyone?? Cheers, Kris

Look there one example for ramp finction generator.With STEP 7, how can you control servovalves, frequency converters or current converters via a ramp-function generator? This is for Step7 but you can manually "translate" in Microwin. Hope this will helps. best regards
