OPC Scout V10: adding new item

Aristotelis Posts: 147 Rating: (34)	Hi all I have a S7-200 system (CPU 222 + CP243-1-IT). I am using OPC Scout V10, in order to communicate with the PLC. What I can't seem to find is how to add a new item in my custom connection. Using a previous version of OPC Scout (v2.5) I was able to create new items, which are then shown in V10 as usual. (i.e IB0) Are the two versions supposed to be used in conjunction, or am I missing something? Documentation and help for V10 are not very informative. Thanks in advance. Aristotelis

I can see 3 "windows" in OPC scout V10: 1) "Server Explorer" 2) "Workbook" 3) "DA view 1" In "Server Explorer" there are 2 subwindows, left & right, left one and the right one with two tabs: "Items" & "Properties". In "Items", there are the items that the server can access. Put an item to "DA view 1" (or whatever name there is), press the "Monitoring" button and the variable is shown with "Quality: Good" So far the only way I was able to add an item in the "Items" tab, was through the previous version of OPC Scout. Actually this behaviour seems really weird and it really doesn't make any sense, so if there are any suggestions they would be really helpful. Thanks in advance. Aristotelis
