Interesting dcument, but somehow I have a doubt this could really work.

I d not have the hardware to tst this, have you attemped to reload your HMI using this technoque? What are the results?

 It very well might work, with Siemens good old copy paste often works, like with plc-programs.

But why would you do that? You do not have the project, only that file? Pretty easy to transfer it from USB if you have the project.

We got a new Hmi so it is blank with no previous projects.

You need to download project to HMI.

But still why wont you use Load Project function on HMI? There is no original project file?
