first of all which characters are in the Wstring? if you use unicode characters then this will not work because the common S7 String can only work with ASCII

If you work with a S71200/1500 PLC then you can also work with a WString in the PLC.

So you can try to just write the one Tag into the other-> with a Script or Systemfunction SetTag

-> but you have to be careful because there is a "security funciton" in WinCC which will only run the Events of an internal Tag (value change for example) if the Value changes through a IO Field by user. if you change the internal Tag with Systemfunction or script then the events are not executed (to prevent infinity loops)
