4-20 mA or 0-10V would be perfect |

Dear Garuwashi, there are specific analog input modules on which you can connect/read a resistor/resistance directly. The mentioned module 6ES7231-5ND32-0XB0 does not have this function. The only way i can imagine is to create a voltage divider with another external resistor, so you will be able to have a voltage from 0-10V on the analog input. Therefore you also have to take the input resistance of the module itelf into consideration. According to the technical data, the input resistance is >1 Mohms, but not an exact value. So you can calculate your voltage divider/seperate resistor, based on 1 Mohm with a "safe" voltage value and measure the real voltage on the analog input. From there you can recalculate the input resistance of the module and adjust your voltage divider. Much better alternative: Using a analog input which is able to handle/measure resistance directly. ***EDIT*** 6ES7231-5ND32-0XB0

You cab use any suitable transmitter (converter) like https://www.prelectronics.com/products/multifunctional-devices/4100/universal-transmitter-4114/ There is a lot of different companies producing similar items, you need to check what you can get locally. Some of them are programmable trough phone NFC or Bluetooth. Also you can use voltage input with your resistance as voltage divider with addition resistor of 1.4 kohm to +24V.. There you will need to calculate resistance from voltage. 0V=0 ohms, 10V=1000 ohms. Input resistance almost not affecting result there so you can not count it. Edit. if use voltage divider - there will be almost 20mA trough sensor and additional resistor. They must be capable to hold this current and power of up to 05W. Or you can use bigger resistor and lover input voltage settings |
