CM1241 RS422 wiring

Please find attached the wiring diagram provide by the manufacturer (https://www.elgo.de/en/products/measuring-systems/linear-measurement-absolute/emax/). Could you help me on this ? Thx ! What is important to know is, what task you need use with your encoder connected to serial line. Why connection is expected like your described?

In this case the communication can be full duplex and the connection of the Master/Slave cables is crossover type (Tx-/Rx- and Tx+/Rx+).
