Good Day!

We have two similar siemens plc projects(TIA Portal), these two projects Tag list are not the same. we needs to use the one project Tag list to another project. We needs to keep the same tag name and reassign the new address. I want to summarise the amount of work in the Tag list.

I knew the rewire option is available, like rewiring the lot of Tags is tough for kind of big tag list is very tough. To much manual work Leeds to error. Is any better way is there ?

Siemens or some other have any tool for IO Comparison ? kindly help me

Hi,

maybe the export of the tags and the external processing via excel could be an option.

Somehow like following FAQ.

How do you import renamed PLC tags from Excel into the symbol table to automatically update points of usage in STEP 7 (TIA Portal)?

Yes, Excel is the powerful tool. we can use it for our IO comparision's.

Using the below formula, We can find the source IO address using tag name. here the scenario is we have two Similar projects but its not identical. One of them created long years back, another one recent project.

We have to Compare the both project. in this scenario below formula will be useful.Through the result we can get how many of them matching & not matching. so it will reduce some time. 

=VLOOKUP(E3,$A$3:$B$10,2,0)

 Like similar scenario it may be useful for someone.
