TOD is hours:minutes:seconds.

What integer do you want?  Seconds since midnight?  Not possible until you meant DINT or UDINT.

Or do you simply want Hours:Minutes -> Integer?  That's only 0..1339, so an INT could work.

TIME is for measuring or specifying elapsed time since some event or action happened.

It can be specified as an INT to represent milliseconds in certain situations.  Or, an INT can be converted to a TIME tag and used fairly interchangeably (as msec).

What are you trying to do?

NO, S7-300 does not understand the S7-1200/1500 native date/time datatype (DTL).  S7-300/400 PLCs use DT.

thanks for your quick response, I read the link you sent and loaded the files from the library.

correct me if I'm wrong: DTL can't be seen in an S300 CPU? (I can not find it)

Anyway, I have the time of day working, it gives me the actual time. but is there a way to convert the TOD to TIME?

Or is there a way I could use the TOD?

because it is not possible to link the TOD to an interger with a time equation.

Look in the OB types available to your S7-300 PLC.

You should find something with a time-of-day interrupt type of thing where you can trigger an action that gets performed via OB1 (a few msec after the time-of-day interrupt triggers).

In the TOD OB, something like "request HMI ON" or "request HMI OFF" depending on TOD and need.

Then in the main PLC, it looks for all the things that turn on the HMI and also all the things that turn off the HMI.

If it's requested ON and not requested OFF, turn it ON, and then reset the HMI ON request while latching the HMI ON output so it stays on until told to turn off.

Oke little background information and the idea behind it.

In my shed i have cpu s300, and a hmi (tp700 comfort) 

My tia Portal knowledge is far from good and om still learning by the day. Both are now used to control my overhead door. In a later stadium my plans are to communicate with my SolarEdge inverter true modbus. So i can set some outputs as i please. "Back to grid,battery or a watertank with heatercoils for heating my home. But thats later on. (Aim for the stars right!)

Main reason why i wanted the actual time (realtime so should be TOD) by now, is for powering on/off my HMI so it would last longer. In the night is could me off. And for my overhead door for controlling the lights of the garage. If its ik the late hours and the plc gets a request for opening the door it will also switch the lights on if its like past 23:00 PM. 

I thought that would be an easy job. In my head its simple. Request open door,Get time, compare time, if time is lower than "value" lights stay off and signal door, of time is higher than "value" lights go on and signal door.

But im open for others opinion about it, Or there way of programming solutions. Still a beginner here ;)
