Hi, can someone tell me where i can found the "“CIP Service Tool" ? The tool uses TIA Portal Openness for the import feature and can browse into Rockwell Automation controllers. It is mentionned into "109782317_CIP_Client_DOC_V1.0.1_en" document attached with the application example CIP Client – exchanging process data with third party control systems thanks |

Hi Actemium_BE, after reading the documentation of the application example "CIP Client – exchanging process data with third party control systems" I would have expected to find the "CIP Service Tool" there as well. Since this is not the case and I cannot find it anywhere else, I assume that it was forgotten. You can contact the person responsible for this example using the link "Provide feedback" at the bottom of that page. Kind regards |

Hello. I am confused. Where do you get the idea of a "CIP service tool"? The article you linked to is about a communication protocol that you can deploy on a Siemens PLC to communicate to a Rockwell PLC. The CIP is a protocol standard which the one device asks the other device for some data. PLC1 can ask PLC2 for the value written in a tag by referencing its symbol name. In a way it is like PUT and GET but CIP can work in a symbol base instead of address base. There is some tools from Siemens that allows you to extract some information from a Rockwell project (Studio 5000 or RSLogix 5000). I have seen it before, you may search for it or create a Support Request. Please share the link if you do find it. ~
