how to close PLCSim which is frozen?

Obviously closing project or TIA could do it but its too slow Regards Be sure to save your work in Step7 before attempting to force close the PLCSIM session. Use Windows' Task Manager (shortcut = <Ctrl> + <Shift> + <Esc>) for analyse the wait chain and/or to kill the process. Sometimes it works by selecting "Close" when right clicking on the program listed in the task bar. Killing the process may give some residual memory usage. There are third party software that advertise of doing some memory maintenance for you. You may find that a repeated process stop would need a clean boot -- Or at least the process of logging off and logging back in on Windows 10 / 11.

I don't know if it would be worth it to use the Ctrl+Alt+Supr option, clicking on the task manager and directly closing the program. This is what I do when I run an RT PC if I forget to create a stop RT button. Best regards!
