The use of L DINO requires the number of an instance data block available in the DI register. However, all of these operations are only possible when using standard block access.

I am sure that your requirements can be met with optimized programming, but it will require a rethinking of your approaches. If you can describe your requirements in an accurate and understandable way, we volunteers may be able to help you get on the right track.

The reason why you can't access the data block register is that the CPU doesn't have such registers. The registers are only emulated by the CPU. Please refer to "Data Exchange in STL" for more details.

For us volunteers it is impossible to give some programming hints to meet your requirements without knowing them.

Convert any DB that needs to behave like it did on S7-300/400 to non-optimized.  Then once you compile that DB, you will be able to see the offset address to specific tags within the DB.

Then you can use PEEK/POKE on S7-1200/1500 to indirectly access DBs in logic and use the F1-Help defined access for non-optimized DB tag access - very similar to how it was in S7-300.

However, passing in the DB # as in index (%DB[DBnum]) like you posed it not possible with S7-1500. You can use DB#.DBBn for byte sized data, DB#.DBWn for word sized, and DB#.DBD for DWord sized data.

Actually they ported the Interlock FB of PCS7 to S7-300 cpu and now they want use it on the new CPU.

We have 100 different DB just for show to the operator the reason why he cannot perform some moviment.

I Like it? No. They pay me to make it work? Unfortunatly Yes.

What I'm trying to do is optimize it, but since in the "new" siemens paradigm the direct access to a db is no longer supported, I don't have Idea how make the faceplate work without know the DB number, cause all variabels on it are linked as %DB[DB_num].Variable.

But at the same time I'm asking to myself, what's the difference in terms of performance using optimized or standard block?
