Hello Everyone,

I'm having to do the same on TIA 15 but I'm running into different problems. This is on a CPU 1512SP, The encoder has been replaced on the machine but I need to make the changes in the configuration. I'm able to change the IP no problem but I'm having issues assigning the name since I believe that's the only step I have left. Whenever I try "update list" on the assign PROFINET assign name, it comes back with 0 devices found. I'm not sure how else I'm able to assign the name. I am connected to the CPU remotely through Mguard, I don't know if this could be casuing the problem. Any help would be Great! Thanks in advance.

sound like you use a vpn and then the search will not work

the system which search the devices must be connected directly to the devices for that.

Today we are going to try having a computer connected to CPU (machines network) while I make the configuration changes through TeamViewer, that way we avoid using the Mguard. Hopefully when I search devices this time, the encoders show up.

Also, Do you need to do a power cycle on the encoder or PLC after making these changes?

no power cycle need, this is a on-the-fly operation

 I'm currently trying to search for devices but it comes back with 0 devices found.

Also tried assigning the name & IP through pronetta to the encoder but still can't get anything to work.

I'm plugged in to the PLC, anything else I could try in order to be able to see the encoders once I search for them?
