Working with V13 SP1 projects in V13 SP2 under Windows 10

I have an issue that is bothering for some time now and since I couldn't find much about it, I'll just ask here: So I have some projects that were originally created with V13 SP1 in Windows 8, and when I open those in V13 SP2 (now in Windows 10) it doesn't offer me upgrade from SP1 to SP2 but it seemingly opens the project. I can go through the project without noticing any issues, until I do the following: 1) compile project OR 2) go online In both cases the program crashes, giving me some unexpected error. Now I don't want to have a virtual machine with Win8 just for this purpose and I want to have a fully functional V13 project under Windows 10, without having to upgrade it to V14/15/15.1 Is there any remedy for this? Is V13 SP2 by itself not fully functioning in Windows 10 or the real issue the original SP1 project? Can you somehow (force) upgrade SP1 to SP2 then? Any other workaround?
